Program Description

This Christmas, Ryatt's Wings is honored to launch Christmas Under His Wings, a special holiday initiative dedicated to bringing hope, comfort, and Christmas joy to families facing the challenges of childhood hospitalization or serious medical illness.

We understand that when a child is hospitalized or battling a serious medical condition, the entire family is affected. Between medical expenses, missed work, countless appointments, and the emotional weight of caring for a sick child, celebrating Christmas can become an overwhelming burden.

Through this program, selected families will receive Christmas assistance, including gifts for the hospitalized child and their siblings, gifts for parents or caregivers, grocery and meal assistance, and other items to help ease the burden of the holiday season.

Inspired by the life and legacy of Ryatt, our goal is to remind these families that they are not forgotten and that even during life's most difficult seasons, there is still hope, love, and kindness.
 
Eligibility Requirements
 

To be considered for Christmas Under His Wings, applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Child's Medical Condition: The family must have at least one child under the age of 18 who is currently hospitalized, undergoing active treatment for a serious medical condition, or experiencing an ongoing medical crisis during the 2026 holiday season.

2. Geographic Location: The family must reside in the Greater Houston area or have a child receiving medical treatment at a hospital within the Greater Houston area.

3. Demonstrated Need: The family must be experiencing financial, or practical hardship associated with their child's medical circumstances.

4. Household Participation: Applicants must provide accurate information regarding the children and primary caregivers in their household so that Christmas assistance can be appropriately planned.

5. Parent or Guardian Consent: Applications must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian, or by a referring professional with the family's permission.

6. Application Deadline: Completed applications must be submitted by November 8, 2026.

Important Program Information
 

• Unknown number of families will be selected for the 2026 program.

• Each selected family will receive Christmas gifts and assistance. Assistance is provided through gifts, gift cards, and essential items rather than direct cash payments.

• Selection will be based on eligibility, family circumstances, demonstrated need, and available program funding.

• Submitting an application does not guarantee assistance.

• Selected families will be contacted directly by Ryatt's Wings.

• All information submitted will be treated confidentially and used for program review and administration.

• Families are not required to participate in religious activities or share their stories publicly to receive assistance.
